A Giant Panda Lecture “Beauty of Wild Nature” Delivered in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
The giant panda lecture activity was successfully carried out in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in August. Unlike previous lectures, this lecture adopted the form of film watching / sharing, to enable audience to watch the film with ease and participate in “zero-distance” interaction, exchange and sharing.?
The monthly lecture themed with “Beauty of Wild Nature” was delivered by Chen Guanglei, a teacher from mountain areas of the Southwestern China. He played a natural documentary film the Glories of the Minya Konka to show the beauty of magnificent snowy mountains and amazing biodiversity. He also told several interesting stories, including the Co-existence of Snow Leopard and Leopard, the Courtship of Lady Amherst’s Pheasant, the Macaca Thibetana and Magnolia Dawsoniana, to present a vivid picture of harmony between man and nature.?
After playing the film, Teacher Chen further told the stories behind the film: “Amazing Animals and Plants in the Wild”, “Wild Observation Method and Approach from Multiple Perspectives”, “Photography Team’s “Daily Hardships in the Wild” and “How Local Residents Live in Harmony with the Nature in Minya Konka”, etc.?
Ecological photography is not only about simple appreciation and photography, but also about the way of recording feelings about the nature. It shows the link among creatures in the nature. As one of creatures on earth, each of us is closely linked to the destiny of the earth. Protecting the earth is to protect ourselves.?
After watching the film, we had exchange and sharing, with a aim to provide more interesting and diversified views on the film, improve the firm watching experience and create a platform for mutual exchange and interaction and meanwhile in hope that the film will attract more people to care about the nature and wild animals and plants and participate in ecological protection.?
